City Council President Bernard C. “Jack” Young’s statement on the passing of former Police Commissioner Bishop L. Robinson
BALTIMORE, MD – “The City of Baltimore suffered a deep loss with the passing of Bishop L. Robinson, a former Baltimore City Police Commissioner and state Secretary of Juvenile Justice.
Commissioner Robinson was a pioneer in the field of public safety and Baltimoreans benefited from his tireless efforts to improve our city. His successes inspired countless men and women to dedicate their lives to public service.
I enjoyed the privilege of working alongside Mr. Robinson and I was extremely proud of his career of service, which was showcased last February during a dedication ceremony for a public justice institute at Coppin State University that bears his name. The institute stands as a tribute to his enduring legacy.
On behalf of the City of Baltimore, I would like to offer my thoughts and prayers to Mr. Robinson’s family and friends.”
