Nikki Thompson

Nikki Thompson has worked at all levels of government – federal, state and local. She has served as a congressional staffer, associate director of policy in Washington, D.C., and is a known behind-the-scenes orchestrator of several key policy wins in Annapolis. Most notably, she secured $1.8 million in state funds to expand pretrial services, limited collateral consequences for returning citizens, and most recently, spearheaded Maryland’s most successful progressive tax reform campaign to date.

Her entire career has been dedicated to economic justice for low-wealth communities and she has received several recognitions for her advocacy.

As a graduate of Howard University School of Law, she is a proud “social engineer” and is laser-focused on using the rule of law to provide justice and dismantling oppressive systems through policy. She guides President Mosby’s legislative agenda through the City Council to create policy wins for Baltimore residents.
