Baltimore City Council President Nick J. Mosby issued the following statement on passage of the 73rd City Council's first legislation:

“The first bill of the 73rd Baltimore City Council is headed to Mayor Scott’s desk after unanimous approval at Monday’s meeting,” City Council President Nick J. Mosby said. “By capping the fees apps can charge local restaurants to deliver food to their customers, the Council has provided a legislative policy solution to put money directly back in the pockets of small business owners in Baltimore while protecting our city’s gig workers.

“These small businesses are the lifeblood of our city. They provide jobs to our residents and keep our main streets vibrant. And this legislation will have a direct impact on helping them survive this pandemic. Our first bill, soon to become law, underscores this Council’s role as Baltimore’s problem-solvers.”
