Council President's Statement on First Responders Who Contracted COVID-19

Council President's Statement on First Responders  Who Contracted COVID-19

BALTIMORE, MD (March 26, 2020) — Baltimore City Council President Brandon Scott made the following statement in response to news that three Baltimore first responders have contracted COVID-19:

“I was just informed that one Baltimore Police officer and two of the Fire Department's EMTs have tested positive for COVID-19. My prayers are with them and their families. I’m forever grateful for the work they do and their willingness to risk their health in service of the people of Baltimore.

This is why it’s critical that we heed the advice of the public health experts. Every single one of us must do all that we can – from practicing social distancing to self-quarantining if you have symptoms – to protect the essential workers making sacrifices during this time.  I ask that all of Baltimore join me in wishing these public servants and all in Baltimore that have contracted COVID-19 a full recovery.”
