COUNCIL PRESIDENT YOUNG’S STATEMENT ON THE PASSING OF POLITICAL, CIVIL RIGHTS PIONEER CLARENCE M. MITCHELL III

BALTIMORE, MD – "In addition to being my close friend, Clarence M. Mitchell III was one of Baltimore's great leaders and thinkers. While I am deeply saddened by his passing, I am comforted that his legacy of sacrifice and service will live on.

His dedication to advancing civil rights serves as a constant inspiration and testament to his enduring memory.

Today is a day of grieving and reflection for everyone whose life Clarence touched through his many endeavors. But the legacy he leaves behind as a trailblazer and loyal friend will continue to live on. I offer my most sincere condolences to the entire Mitchell family during this difficult time."
